As 2024 came to a close, AthleteFi demonstrated its leadership in blockchain and sports innovation. From festive celebrations to advancements in decentralized finance, December proved pivotal, showcasing AthleteFi’s commitment to delivering real-world value to athletes, coaches and sports enthusiasts.

Here’s a look back at the highlights that made December unforgettable.

Holiday Season Giveaway

AthleteFi launched a festive Holiday Season Giveaway, offering participants exclusive prizes. Running from December 1, 2024, to January 1, 2025, the giveaway captivated both sports enthusiasts and blockchain aficionados. Winners will be announced in early January 2025.

Community Engagement

On December 10, AthleteFi’s Founder, Matthew Barrett, posted a poll on X asking, “Where should AthleteFi launch?” The options were Harmony, Base, Chiliz, and Avalanche. The poll garnered 47,000 views and just under 1,000 votes, with Chiliz coming in first at 61.3% and Harmony at 28.4%.

Partnerships and Collaborations

AthleteFi announced its partnership with CryptoLandDAO on the Harmony blockchain. This partnership will be discussed in future events. A live X Space session hosted by @HarleyishHarley deepened engagement, providing insights into this exciting development. AthleteFi looks forward to hosting and participating in more X Spaces, AMAs and partnerships starting in Q1 of 2025.

Pre-TGE Activities

In preparation for its token launch, AthleteFi rolled out Pre-TGE activities on Zealy. Community members could earn points toward an airdrop while learning about the Train2Earn model and Simple SportsFi initiatives. The purpose of this campaign is to seed activity, build the foundation of the AthleteFi community, and identify talent within the community to help drive momentum toward launch, ensuring a strong foundation for AthleteFi’s ecosystem.

AthleteFi Validator on Harmony

A key achievement was the deployment of the AthleteFi Validator on the Harmony protocol. Staking with the AthleteFi Validator offers participants the opportunity to earn rewards in ONE tokens while supporting two key initiatives: the Harmony Recovery Burn Initiative and Enhanced Yields for Stakers. The AthleteFi Validator highlighted AthleteFi’s commitment to innovative yield generation and decentralized finance, enhancing its staking protocol’s impact.
